Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see a “request to join” option?

Three common reasons: (1) you signed up with a public email provider (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) — only company domains match; (2) the workspace's admins turned domain join off; (3) nobody on your exact email domain uses FyneDesk yet. Subdomains count as different domains — eu.acme.com doesn't match acme.com.

I was invited by email — do I still need a join request?

No. Email invitations skip all of this; you join directly with the role on the invite. Invites always take priority.

Can I request to join more than one workspace?

If several workspaces match your domain you'll see each of them, but you can only have one open request at a time. Cancel your pending request if you want to ask a different workspace.

How long does a request last?

14 days. If no admin decides in that time it expires quietly — you can request again or create your own workspace.

My request was declined. Can I try again?

Yes, after 7 days (per workspace). A faster path: ask a teammate who's an Admin to send you an invite — invites work immediately, even after a denial.

We're at our plan's agent limit. What happens to requests?

They wait. The Accept button shows Upgrade to add until a seat is free (upgrade your plan or deactivate an agent), and Deny remains available.

Does the person see who denied them, or why?

No. The denial email is neutral — no admin name, no reason — and simply offers them the option to create their own workspace.

Can someone find out our company uses FyneDesk by typing our domain?

No. Before email verification, signups only ever see a generic hint that their company “may already use FyneDesk” — never a name. The workspace name appears only to someone who has proven they control an email address on your domain, and only if domain join is enabled for your workspace.

Does an accepted joiner get owner-style setup screens?

No. Joiners land straight on your team's dashboard as a regular member with the role you picked. Only people who create a brand-new workspace see the owner onboarding.

Is any of this automatic?

No. Every membership through domain join is explicitly approved by one of your workspace's Admins, every time.
